In his fifteen years at the top of his sport, Imran Khan came to be recognised as one of the greatest all round cricketers the world has ever seen. The Lion of Pakistan' made his inimitable mark as a genuinely fast bowler and one of the world's best front line batsmen; and also as the captain and national hero of his country.

Born in Lahore into a family of eight cricketers, Imran first came to Britain as a raw eighteen-year-old member of the Pakistan touring team of 1971. In 1987, after rioting in the streets of Lahore and a personal plea from General Zia, Imran came out of retirement to lead Pakistan in a Test series to decide the world's leading team.
